A Delegation from the School of Medicine visits Hebron Polytechnic University, Palestine

A delegation from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Jordan made an official visit to Hebron Polytechnic University, Palestine, during the period from 7/30 to 8/1/2023

This came within the framework of cooperation between the School of Medicine and Hebron Polytechnic University's efforts to obtain international accreditation for the College of Medicine at the Palestinian University from the WFME world federation for medical education.

  The delegation was received by the President of Hebron Polytechnic University, Prof. Dr. Amjad Barham, who delivered a welcoming speech in which he expressed his pride in the academic cooperation between the two universities. The two parties also exchanged commemorative  on the occasion of this visit.

The University of Jordan delegation included Dr. Enas Al-Zayadneh, Assistant Dean for Quality and Communication Affairs, Dr. Fida Thekrallah, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs in Clinical Departments and Alumni, Dr. Randa Farah - Director of the Continuing Medical Education Office - University of Jordan Hospital, and Mrs. Haifa Ismail, Assistant Dean Student Counseling Affairs.

The University of Jordan delegation included Dr. Enas Al-Zayadneh, Assistant Dean for Quality and Communication Affairs, Dr. Fida Zikrallah, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs in Clinical Departments and Alumni, Dr. Randa Farah - Director of the Continuing Medical Education Office - University of Jordan Hospital, and Ms. Haifa Ismail, Assistant Dean Student Counseling Affairs.

The visit included holding two workshops by the visiting delegation. The first workshop was held on Monday 7/31 on the university campus.  Dr. Majed Al-Dweik, Dean of the Faculty, opened the workshop by welcoming the visiting delegation and presenting an overview of the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine at Hebron Polytechnic and the stages it accomplished in the international accreditation process, and then the lecturers (Dr. Enas Al-Zayadneh and  Dr. Randa Farah  ) delivered a presentation that included an overview of the history of the School  of Medicine at the University of Jordan, its achievements, its global classification, international accreditation, quality assurance and communication affairs, and about continuing medical education and international accreditation of teaching hospitals. Dr. Raed Al-Taher, Assistant Dean for Development and Medical Education Affairs from Amman, participated Through the application of the Zoom program, he talked about developments in the means and methods of medical education, including electronic medical education.

The second workshop was held on Tuesday, 1/8, in Al-Ahly Hospital, which is the accredited hospital for clinical training for students at Hebron Polytechnic. During which the visiting delegation members (Dr. Fidaa Thikrallah and Mrs. Haifa Mahasneh) gave a presentation on clinical medical education, student counseling, and exams.

The workshop was attended during the two days by members of the teaching staff in Hebron medical   college, including heads of departments and teachers in the clinical and basic stages. The meetings included an interactive dialogue between the attendees and members of the delegation on the topics raised during the workshop.

The Dean of the College and the Director of Clinical Training accompanied the delegation on a tour of the college facilities and the teaching hospital.

​At the end of the visit, the administration of the host university expressed its appreciation for the efforts of the School of Medicine at the University of Jordan, represented by the President of the University, the Dean of the Faculty, and the visiting delegation in providing advice and exchanging experiences, especially in the international accreditation file for the Doctor of Medicine program. The visiting delegation also expressed its appreciation for what the faculty of medicine at  Hebron Polytechnic University has achieved and the progress made since its founding.
