A training workshop for students on quantitative scientific research was held at the School of Medicine at the University of Jordan on Tuesday 26-9-2023 entitled “Introduction to Quantitative Research from Idea to Publication".
This event was supervised by Dr. Diala Abu Hassan, Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology and Biochemistry. The program included scientific lectures with the participation of faculty members from outside the college. The six-hour workshop program included valuable lectures delivered by Dr. Hamza Al-Daridi from the University's School of Nursing. Jordanian, Dr. Othman Al-Fuqaha from the University of Islamic Sciences, and student Hassan Abu Shuqair from the Jordanian University of Science and Technology. The workshop addressed various scientific research topics, including an introduction to scientific research, literature review, research design, data collection and analysis, psychological measurements, the role of artificial intelligence in scientific research, statistical analysis, scientific writing, and publishing. Seventy students from different academic years attended the event. Two students, Jihad Yassin and Lynn Al-Qutb, from the School of Medicine, participated in preparing and organizing the lecture program during the workshop.
