International Federation of Medical Students Associations in Jordan/University of Jordan (IFMSA-Jo/UJLC) in collaboration with King Hussein Cancer Center organized an Anti-Smoking Awareness Workshop for basic years medical students at the University of Jordan as a part of their project "JUH Smoke Free Campaign" under the supervision of Dr. Nakhleh Abu-Yaghi and under the leadership of Sura Mubarak and Nour Hayek, fourth year medical students at the University of Jordan.
60 students attended this workshop which was given by Cancer Control Office Team in V Business Center in Khalda.
The aim for this workshop was to teach basic years students how to approach smokers, how to spread awareness about smoking prevention in public areas and how to try to convince smokers about smoking cessation. Students were divided into small working groups and worked together towards difficult scenarios they might face in real life situations and how would they tackle these scenarios through a creative problem-solving approach.
