Program Specifications

Master in Anatomy and Histology / Program Intended Learning Outcomes

1.    Describe and discuss the detailed anatomy, embryology, and histology of human body using appropriate vocabulary.
 
2.    Recognize both basic anatomy and anatomical manifestation of different diseases and injuries.
 
3.    Analyze and explain different stages of human development and correlate specific embryological event or sequence of events to the development of particular body region and different congenital anomalies.
 
4.    Employ efficiently different methods used in the study of human anatomy, including dissecting and preparing anatomical specimens, and histological slides.
 
5.    Interpret both normal and abnormal anatomical structures on radiographs, MRI and CT scans based on developmental and anatomical basisand use the appropriate technologies for acquisition, processing and interpretation of data.
 
6.    Design and carry out a scientific research projects and produce well-constructed and organized scientific papers or thesis in the field of anatomy and histology.
 
7.    Critique scientific articles and demonstrate critical thinking in evaluating findings, research methodology and statistical analysis.
 
8.    Prepare and carry out teaching sessions to both small and large groups of students and demonstrate effective professional teaching skills that promote the integration and translation of the basic anatomical sciences to clinical applications.
 
9.    Respect human cadaver, and adhere to all other ethical issues surrounding the use of human material in medical education and research.
 
10.  Communicate effectively via oral and written presentations and work in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams and show the capacity to undertake lifelong learning.
