Vision

To be a leader in providing the best standards of care and research in the profession of Anesthesia and Intensive Care in Jordan.

Mission

Providing contemporary high standard medical care in the field of Anesthesia and Intensive Care for patients in need, and maintaining these high standards through:
1- Continuous development of the profession to meet international standards.
2- Training new generations of qualified doctors in the field.
3- Teaching Undergraduate medical students.
4- Taking a role in improving the specialty worldwide by doing anesthesia related medical research.

Objectives

Our major goals in the department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care in the school of Medicine at Jordan University are:
1- Provide qualified Anesthetists with certificate of High Specialization in Anesthesia and who are eligible for national regional and international certification exams in the specialty.
2- Teaching and training of undergraduate medical students about principles of critical care and resuscitation and the practice of anesthesia and its pivotal role in medical care.
3- Carrying out specialty related research on both local, regional and international levels and collaborations with other institutions in this regard.

The following values are maintained and taught to trainees in our department and represent the ethical bases of our work:
1- Ensuring good teamwork spirit with mutual respect and leadership roles.
2- Respect of patients and right to be well informed and be a decision co-maker in their management.
