A meeting was held at the School of Medicine, chaired by Professor Faleh Al-Sawa'er, Vice President for World Rankings and International Accreditation Affairs, and Professor Yasser Al-Rayyan, Dean of the School of Medicine, in the School Council on Sunday, 10-8-2023. The meeting was attended by Vice deans, assistant deans, and department heads, as well as a group of Members of the teaching and administrative staff at the School of Medicine .Dr. Nujoud Al-Dabai and Ms. Saraa Al-Sharida from the International Classifications Office at the university were also in attendance .
The Vice President gave a presentation about international classifications of universities in general and QS World University Rankings in particular, he also discussed the criteria by which universities are classified and about the ranking achieved by the School of Medicine during the year 2023, as the SOM achieved great progress by reaching the 350-400 category (353), which enhances the academic reputation of the SOM at the local and international levels. The Vice President instructed the faculty members to contribute actively to achieving the goal standards for university rankings , which include: academic and employment reputation, citations for scientific research, and H-Index for faculty research work .
The Dean also stressed the importance of intensifying efforts by all faculty members to contribute to advancing the School of Medicine world ranking to a position worthy of its academic and research achievements and its employment reputation.
