Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Yasser Rayyan, Dean of the school of Medicine, a new scientific meeting was held at theschool of Medicine within the "Meet the Expert" program:
Which periodically hosts a group of experts from prestigious international scientific centers.
The program hosted Dr. Hamdi Karakyali, Professor in the Department of General Surgery at the School of Medicine at Atakent University in Turkey, on Thursday 8-8-2024 in the auditorium of the University of Jordan Hospital.
Dr. Hamdi gave a valuable scientific lecture entitled: "Liver Transplantation from Living Donor for Difficult Cases", In which he addressed the indications for liver transplantation in adults and children; the types of liver transplantation, whether from a living donor or from a brain-dead donor; and he presented the complications that may occur after liver transplantation and the methods of treating them.
The lecture was followed by a rich discussion with the audience, in which Dr. Hamdi presented the experience of liver transplantation for adults and children in the hospital where he works, and how to address the challenges associated with liver transplantation. Dr. Hamdi answered the questions from the audience who interacted with the lecture in a distinctive way.
The meeting was prepared by the organizing scientific committee under the supervision of Dr. Fidaa Zekrallah, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs in the Clinical Phase and Graduates, Dr. Laila Al-Tutunji, and Dr. Qais Al-Balbisi, who moderated the meeting.
The events were distinguished by the generous presence of an elite group of staff members at the School of Medicine, doctors of the Higher Specialization Program ( residents) in the Department of Pediatrics, and students from university school of medicine.
