On the evening of Thursday, July 18, 2024, the school of Medicine at the university held a celebration to mark the reunion of the Class of 1999 with the top graduates of the Class of 2024. This annual event is one of the traditions that strengthens the bonds between different generations of the school's alumni.
The ceremony began with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Dr. Najati Aref, a graduate of the Class of 1999, which added a spiritual atmosphere to the occasion.
The Dean of the school of medicine, Professor Dr. Yaser Al-Rayyan, warmly welcomed the distinguished attendees, which included vice presidents, deans, faculty and administrative members of the school of Medicine, as well as the top graduates and their families. The Dean expressed his gratitude to the Class of 1999 for their presence.
Dr. Khalid Ayish, representing the 22nd graduating class, gave a speech where he shared the graduates' gratitude for this reunion, which brought back memories and made them feel proud of their school and university. Following this, Dr. Maha Obeidat and Dr. Ashraf Harahsheh presented a special presentation that highlighted the journeys of their fellow classmates from the Class of 1999.
In a standout segment, Dr. Ibrahim Sa'idat gave a performance that proved a doctor can also be a talented artist, showing off his stand-up comedy skills, which made everyone happy. This was followed by an address from Professor Dr. Nathir Obeidat, President of the University of Jordan, who extended his thanks and appreciation to everyone involved in making the event a success,
Highlighting the hard work and commitment that help the school of medicine and university progress.
The top twelve graduates of the Class of 2024 were honored with awards and shields in recognition of their academic achievements. The event ended with a special recognition for the Class of 1999. Who met with Professor Dr. Nathir Obeidat and Professor Dr. Yaser Al-Rayyan.
The honored class gave a special shield to the President, and they took a group photo to remember the moment.
Shields were also distributed to deserving school members.
It is worth noting that before the start of the ceremony, the honored class gathered at the school of medicine and toured the anatomy labs and other laboratories, bringing back special memories from the past. The celebration was followed by a dinner at the university's restaurants for the esteemed attendees.
The event was hosted by Dr. Fida Thekrallah, Assistant Dean for Clinical Training and Graduats' affairs, who thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the event, including the honored class, the Dean, Dr. Omar Al-Shoubaki, and the Office of Clinical Training and graduates' affairs.
