Higher Specialization in Diagnostic Radiology / Program Overview

The training program is well-balanced and offers a broad variety of career pathways that include the practice of general radiology and its subspecialties

To provide outstanding clinical care through expertise in medical imaging and interpretation, through innovation and advances in imaging research, and through excellence in teaching and mentoring imaging trainees

  • Program Aims:

To provide post-graduate medical students who join the program with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and other attributes fundamental to the practice of radiology organized in a developmental frame work from less to more advance as students move from entry into diagnostic radiology residency program through graduation at the end of the program. The candidate is eligible and is expected to pass the national and international board examinations in diagnostic radiology.

 

This will be achieved by make sure that the student at the end of the program will be able to:

 

1.         Define and understand the fundamental principles and recent advances in different imaging modalities.

2.         Gain the ability to interpret findings in different imaging modalities.

3.         Gain the ability to diagnose cases referred to radiology department or to recommend further imaging modalities to help diagnose the referred cases.

4.         Develop effective communication skills with patients and staff.

5.         Gain the skills necessary to carry out research projects.

6.         Gain the skills necessary to participate in the teaching process.​
