During the course of this elective, albeit short, I learned of several innovative and exciting technologies and practices within the sphere of advanced gastrointestinal endoscopy. I became extremely fascinated with learning more about some of these practices, and as such pursued a few research opportunities that would allow for deeper exploration and analysis. Although hesitant to undergo a research project at first, due to the unfamiliarity of the program I was enrolled in, I quickly grew fond of it. By the end of my stay at Cornell, I had published three different papers involving various aspects of advanced endoscopy in Endoscopy Journal which is considered one of the best in that field. Looking back at my experience at Cornell, I learned the importance and impact of research on the medical world, and was reminded of the thrill and adventure of learning new and innovative medical practices. I hope to continue undertaking exciting research projects, as well as learn new and innovative medical practices throughout my career.
