At the successful completion of the higher
specialization in Dermatology, the graduate should be able to:
1. Apply and integrate knowledge of basic sciences
and evidence-based practice in clinical problem-solving in
Medicine/Dermatology.
2. Interpret findings from history and examination
to recognize the presentation/s and generate a list of differential diagnoses
for each problem encountered in Medicine/Dermatology.
3. Select and interpret accurately the results of
the most appropriate laboratory and imaging procedures and perform different
simple and bedside medical procedures to diagnose various clinical disorders.
4. Develop and carry out appropriate management
plans and therapeutic interventions, demonstrating awareness of risks,
benefits, costs, patient preferences, up-to-date scientific evidence, and
ethical and psychosocial dimensions.
5. Perform competently all medical and invasive
procedures considered essential for the area of practice
6. Understand the health delivery system and
provide health care services to prevent health problems or maintain health.
7. Define patient safety and quality improvement,
identify life-threatening conditions, and establish prompt therapy, referral,
or consultations to appropriate disciplines at the proper time.
8. Recognize ethical principles that govern
decision-making in Medical/Dermatological practice and implement a
professional, ethical attitude toward patients and their relatives. This
includes respecting patients' confidentiality and consent and delivering care
in an honest, considerate, and compassionate manner.
9. Maintain complete and accurate medical records
and utilize information technology to manage information, access online medical
information, and support own education and proper patient care.
10. Critique scientific literature and utilize
different scientific methodologies to conduct and publish scientific research
studies and present the results professionally.
11. Demonstrate effective communication with
patients, families, and other healthcare team members, showing respect,
compassion, and integrity.
12. Develop the teamwork and leadership skills
necessary to organize work, supervise and educate junior and paramedical staff,
and show a commitment to continuous professional development.
