Dr. Mahmoud Al-Abdallat, Assistant Professor in the Department of Special Surgery and Consultant Neurosurgeon at the University of Jordan Hospital, performed a qualitative operation to implant brain electrodes to perform an EEG by corrected surgery for an 8-year-old child, on Tuesday, 19-12-2023, with the participation of Consultant Anesthesiologist and Intensive Care Prof. Khaled Al-Zaben and Consultant Pediatric Neurology Dr. Amal Abu Libdeh. This operation was performed on a patient suffering from epilepsy  that is not responsive to medicines several years ago, and it was not possible to find out the source of the electrical activity by traditional EEG, which prompted the concerned medical team to take the decision to implant the brain electrodes within the brain tissue in an accurate and complex manner to determine the location and source of electrical charges, in a qualitative process that took a period of (3) hours, which is considered the first of its kind in Jordan in the field of neurosurgery.
