The Role of Doctors in Humanitarian Work

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Yaser Al-Rayyan, Dean of the School of Medicine, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Heba Kalbouneh, Deputy Dean for Examination Affairs, and Dr. Maram Abdaljaleel, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, a local assembly was held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, for students of the Faculty of Medicine who are members of the International Federation of Medical Students Associations in Jordan, University of Jordan Local Committee.

The assembly focused on “The Role of Doctors in Humanitarian Work", Where Dr. Rashid Fakhri and Dr. Hani Islim from Doctors Without Borders was present as a speakers in sessions about this topic.

The assembly also included a number of introductory sessions about the IFMSA standing committees and their areas of work, in addition to training sessions on stress management, leadership skills, projects management, and international opportunities.

The assembly represented an opportunity to expand the cognitive and humanitarian horizons of the college's students as the future doctors, to enable them to employ their role as doctors for the sake of humanity and the service of other.
