“A training course on scientific medical research held at the School of Medicine”

A training course was held at the School  of Medicine in cooperation with the Institute of Public Health and the  Accreditation and Quality Assurance Centre entitled :

Advanced Medical Research workshop (part 1)

 During which, Dr. Munir Abu Hilala, Director of the Institute of Public Health and Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, gave a presentation on scientific medical research that included the following topics:

  • Types of Epidemiological studies: Observational, Analytical and experimental.
  • How to select the best study design for your research.
  • Questionnaire design and use of ready Questionnaires.
  • Sample size calculation and statistical analysis plan.
  • Understand different sampling techniques (probability and non-probability sampling).
  • Study proposal writing and grant applications .

 

A number of faculty and administrative staff members, clinical trainers, and master's students at the School of Medicine participated in the course. A number of students from the Quality Assurance Committee also participated in organizing this event.
