“Capacity Building Educational Program for Preceptors: Supporting medical students' clinical experiences"

A delegation from the School of Medicine, headed by the Dean Professor Yasser Al-Rayyan, participated in a national workshop on medical education with the participation of medical schools in the Kingdom on Wednesday and Thursday, corresponding to January 17 and 18, 2024, entitled: “The educational program for building the capabilities of clinical trainers: to support expertise." Capacity Building Educational Program for Preceptors: "Supporting medical students' clinical experiences.

The project launch event was held under the auspices of the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Mamoun Al-Dabai, on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. It is worth noting that the project will last for three years (2023-2026) and will be implemented in coordination between the Hashemite University and each of the medical schools at the University of Jordan, the University of Science and Technology, Yarmouk University, Mu'tah University, Al-Balqa Applied University, the Portuguese Universities of Minho, and the University of Patras from Greece.

The project received support and partnership from the European Union within the ERASMUS+ program and aims to build the capabilities of clinical trainers in medical schools and university and teaching hospitals to develop medical education in Jordan through designing and implementing a professional training program to enhance the teaching, supervision and training skills of clinical trainers. Providing a distinguished educational and training experience for students in hospitals and through clinically and academically qualified medical personnel.

Participants from the School of Medicine at the University of Jordan were Dr. Raed Al-Taher, Director of the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching, Dr. Fidaa Thikrallah, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs in the Clinical Stage and Graduates, Dr. Enas Al-Zayadneh, Assistant Dean for Quality and Communication Affairs, Professor Asma Al-Basha, Professor Iman Badran, and Dr. Kais. Al-Balbisi.
