The meeting was attended by the Assistant Dean for Clinical Training and Student Affairs in the Clinical years, Dr. Fida Thekr Allah, the Assistant Dean for Examinations Affairs and Student Affairs in the Basic years, Professor Heba Kalbouneh, and the Assistant Dean for Quality and Communication Affairs, Dr. Enas Al-Zayadneh . The meeting was attended by student representatives: Dr. Ahmed Abu Hani, Laila Nazzal, ,Enas AlKhasawneh ,and Hussein Al-Rahimi as student representatives in the college council, and Kholoud Al-Hajri as a representative of international students in the school. During the meeting, the Dean listened to the students' comments and feedback on various topics related to student affairs. The Dean and his assistants also expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the attending students in representing their colleagues, in presenting student affairs, and in participating in expressing opinions on the topics raised during the Faculty Council sessions. In the exam in which a large number of doctors around the world competed, a number of college graduates obtained exceptional and distinguished results, including Doctor Ahmed Al-Shrrouf (282), which is the highest nationally, Doctor Tawfiq Barqawi (281), Doctor Ishaq Khoury (280) and other distinguished graduates. .
The President of the University of Jordan, Professor Nathir Obeidat, and the Dean of the School of Medicine, Professor Yasser Al-Rayyan, expressed their pride in the graduates of SOM“ , which constitutes a milestone in Jordan, stressing that it provides the medical and humanitarian community annually with a distinguished and creative cohort. It is noteworthy that this exam is sponsored by the Federation of State Medical Boards and the National Board of Medical Examiners, and doctors with an MD degree are required to pass it before they are allowed to practice medicine in the United States of America.

During which the Dean delivered a speech in which he expressed his pride in the distinguished administrative staff and his thanks for the continuous efforts they are making in serving the School of Medicine and maintaining the prestigious status it enjoys. The Dean also distributed commemorative shields and certificates of appreciation to members of the teaching staff in recognition of their efforts in completing administrative tasks and operations with dedication and mastery.

Professor Yaser Al-Rayan ,Dean of the School of Medicine ,delivered a welcoming speech in which he talked about the achievements of the School of Medicine and its distinction at the level of international classification, international accreditation, research and job reputation. Then, the sponsor of the ceremony, His Excellency Prof. Nathir Obeidat, gave a speech in which he expressed his pride in the School of Medicine's history and achievement, and reviewed a set of distinguished memories in the college and the university hospital. He also expressed his appreciation for a group of pioneering professors who reached the age of retirement and others who passed away, but their achievements are still remembered . This came within the framework of cooperation between the School of Medicine and Hebron Polytechnic University's efforts to obtain international accreditation for the College of Medicine at the Palestinian University from the WFME world federation for medical education. The delegation was received by the President of Hebron Polytechnic University, Prof. Dr. Amjad Barham, who delivered a welcoming speech in which he expressed his pride in the academic cooperation between the two universities. The two parties also exchanged commemorative on the occasion of this visit. The University of Jordan delegation included Dr. Enas Al-Zayadneh, Assistant Dean for Quality and Communication Affairs, Dr. Fida Thekrallah, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs in Clinical Departments and Alumni, Dr. Randa Farah - Director of the Continuing Medical Education Office - University of Jordan Hospital, and Mrs. Haifa Ismail, Assistant Dean Student Counseling Affairs.
The University of Jordan delegation included Dr. Enas Al-Zayadneh, Assistant Dean for Quality and Communication Affairs, Dr. Fida Zikrallah, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs in Clinical Departments and Alumni, Dr. Randa Farah - Director of the Continuing Medical Education Office - University of Jordan Hospital, and Ms. Haifa Ismail, Assistant Dean Student Counseling Affairs.
The visit included holding two workshops by the visiting delegation. The first workshop was held on Monday 7/31 on the university campus. Dr. Majed Al-Dweik, Dean of the Faculty, opened the workshop by welcoming the visiting delegation and presenting an overview of the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine at Hebron Polytechnic and the stages it accomplished in the international accreditation process, and then the lecturers (Dr. Enas Al-Zayadneh and Dr. Randa Farah ) delivered a presentation that included an overview of the history of the School of Medicine at the University of Jordan, its achievements, its global classification, international accreditation, quality assurance and communication affairs, and about continuing medical education and international accreditation of teaching hospitals. Dr. Raed Al-Taher, Assistant Dean for Development and Medical Education Affairs from Amman, participated Through the application of the Zoom program, he talked about developments in the means and methods of medical education, including electronic medical education. The second workshop was held on Tuesday, 1/8, in Al-Ahly Hospital, which is the accredited hospital for clinical training for students at Hebron Polytechnic. During which the visiting delegation members (Dr. Fidaa Thikrallah and Mrs. Haifa Mahasneh) gave a presentation on clinical medical education, student counseling, and exams.
The workshop was attended during the two days by members of the teaching staff in Hebron medical college, including heads of departments and teachers in the clinical and basic stages. The meetings included an interactive dialogue between the attendees and members of the delegation on the topics raised during the workshop. The Dean of the College and the Director of Clinical Training accompanied the delegation on a tour of the college facilities and the teaching hospital.
At the end of the visit, the administration of the host university expressed its appreciation for the efforts of the School of Medicine at the University of Jordan, represented by the President of the University, the Dean of the Faculty, and the visiting delegation in providing advice and exchanging experiences, especially in the international accreditation file for the Doctor of Medicine program. The visiting delegation also expressed its appreciation for what the faculty of medicine at Hebron Polytechnic University has achieved and the progress made since its founding.

The delegation was accompanied by a member from Tourism Promotion Commision in Jordan, as part of the Commission 's objectives to shed light on the medical sector in Jordan and the universities which provides medical education. The delegation held a meeting with Debuty Dean Professor Musa Al-Abbadi, and was attended by Dr. Fida Thikrallah, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs in the Clinical Years, and Dr. Enas Al-Zayadneh, Assistant Dean for Quality and Communication Affairs. The delegation listened to a presentation on the School of Medicine at the University of Jordan, which included a brief about the history of the college, the programs taught, its achievements, its global ranking and international accreditation. The meeting was on Monday 5/22/2023, in the Auditorium No. 1 new College of Medicine building of the school of Medicine. Prof. Yasser Al-Rayyan, the Dean of the school of Medicine, at the University of Jordan, presented an overview of the program and its importance to students after obtaining its bachelor's degree, in addition to a Doctor of Medicine degree. Prof. Fahmy Abu Al-Rub, the program coordinator at Jordan University of Science and Technology, gave a full explanation on the details of the program and how to join it. Prof. Fahmy Abu Al-Rub, and Prof. Faisal Muhammad as well as Prof. Abdelkader Battah, the coordinators of the program at the school of Medicine at the University of Jordan, answered students' questions about the program. Ms. Ghina Barakat and Ms. Dania Sreheen, administrators in the program, distributed brochures about the program to the attending students.

As part of the first work of the research cooperation committee between the College of Medicine and the King Abdullah II College for Information Technology, the first joint workshop between the two colleges was held in Ahmed Al-Lawzi Theater at the King Abdullah II College for Information Technology on Tuesday, 5/23/2023. The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College Medicine Prof. Dr. Yasser Al-Rayyan, and Dean of King Abdullah II College for Information Technology Prof. Dr. Saleh Al-Sharayaa, in addition to a large number of faculty members and students in both colleges. It also attracted a large number of interested people from other universities and companies interested in the medical-technological field. At the beginning of the workshop, Prof. Yasser Al-Rayyan stressed the importance of this strategic and vital cooperation and the support of the university administration and the deanships of the two colleges for this integration between the different disciplines to keep pace with the great technical acceleration that we are currently experiencing, which necessitates concerted efforts between the various disciplines to confront the technical and research problems facing the medical sector. Then the proceedings of the workshop began, which lasted for more than 4 hours, and included two scientific sessions, including a networking session between researchers. In the first session, Dr. Saif AlDeen AlRyalat and Dr. Laila Tutunji from the College of Medicine spoke about the types of medical data that need research and study and about the most critical opportunities and challenges facing medical research. Dr. Laith Al-Omari from the King Hussein Cancer Center also spoke about methods of encoding medical data and the most important sources for obtaining medical data open. Then Dr. Eyad Sultan from the King Hussein Cancer Center presented the role of modern technologies in supporting medical data processing.
In the second session devoted to researchers from the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology, Dr. Magdi Sawalha and Dr. Heba Saadeh spoke about the two topics of using natural language processing techniques in medical research and about applications of computational biology, while Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jarrah reviewed some research on medical data that he carried out with his group research. For her part, Dr. Hoda Karajah reviewed the field of digital image processing in medical research, and Dr. Musa Al-Akhras reviewed the detailed steps starting from the idea and obtaining and processing digital images, then extracting the medical characteristics for the diagnosis of glaucoma. It was agreed to hold a continuous series of specialized workshops between the two colleges to enhance research and technical cooperation and translate these ideas into pioneering products, innovative technical solutions, and research of a distinct medical technical nature that combines the capabilities of both colleges in a way that benefits and distinguishes the university and the country. It was also agreed to form small groups. Focused and clear goals. At the end of the workshop, a dialogue session was held between the speakers and the audience. Many ideas were put forward and points of view were heard by the attendees, who praised this pioneering initiative.

This is within the efforts of the School of Medicine to follow up the clinical training process for students in accredited centers to enhance communication with supervisors and for the purposes of development and improvement based on feedback and observations by students and clinical trainer.These meetings were coordinated by the Office of the Assistant Dean for Clinical Training Affairs, and two independent meetings were held with each of the trainers from the Royal Medical Services and Al-Bashir Hospital. The Dean welcomed the doctors accredited by the Ministry of Health and the Royal Medical Services, and praised the distinguished efforts made by the colleagues supervising the training of students in these centers and the long-standing academic and professional relations that unite the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Jordan with these prestigious national health centers. The delegation included Dr. Salah Al-Fatlawi, Head of the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority, Dr. Anis Khalil Nayel, Chairman of the Committee of Deans of Colleges of Medicine, and Dr. Yusra Muhammad Abdullah, Director of the Department of Accreditation, Supervision and Academic Evaluation, and Dr. Yousra Abdel-Rahman Mahmoud, Head of the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges,and Professor Wassim Al-Tamimi, the Iraqi cultural advisor in Jordan. . The delegation held a meeting with the Dean , Deputy Dean for College Affairs Prof Musa Al-Abbadi, , and Dr. Enas Al-Zayadneh, Assistant Dean for Quality and Communication Affairs, during which they a presentation was given about the local and international accreditation process obtained by the School of Medicine at the University of Jordan by the Higher Education Institutions Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission and the International Federation for Medical Education WFME . The delegation expressed its appreciation for the efforts made by the college to obtain accreditation and its for the strong Jordanian-Iraqi relations in the fields of academic and cultural exchange. The meeting was also attended by Mrs. Amal Al-Tarawneh, Director of the Quality Assurance Directorate at the Higher Education Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission in Jordan .
| | 3/13/2023 | 11/30/2023 | News | | | | Prof. Dr. Yasser Al-Rayyan, Dean of the School of Medicine, received His Excellency the Ambassador of the State of Singapore, Shamsher Zaman, on Tuesday, 28-2-2023 .The two parties discussed ways of cooperation between the University of Jordan and the State of Singapore in the academic sector, where a number of students from Singapore enroll in multiple Jordanian universities. The Ambassador praised the advanced level of academic education at the University of Jordan and expressed the desire to encourage medical students from both sides to conduct mutual visits in clinical training and scientific research in the future. The meeting was attended by the Assistant Dean for Quality and International Communication.
| | 3/1/2023 | 2/3/2024 | Event | | | | Under the auspices of the Dean of the School of Medicine , a training workshop was held in the SOM as part of the project to establish a diploma program in family medicine, which falls under the primary health care program in Jordan. The workshop was held for three days (19,20,21 of February ,2023). It is worth noting that the project is one of the projects supported by the European Union within the Erasmus Plus program for capacity building in higher education. The workshop was held in coordination between the International Affairs Unit at the University of Jordan and the College of Medicine represented by Dr. Lana Halaseh, Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, and she is the liaison officer for the project in the SOM. A number of faculty members, doctors and researchers from medical faculties in Jordanian universities participated in the workshop . The workshop included a number of lectures and panel discussions presented by trainers from Queen Mary University in Britain (Dr Safiya Virji ) and from Jordan ( Dr Amna Hawash) , and was keen to provide training needs, optimal communication skills, skills for obtaining feedback from health care recipients, and how to build appropriate treatment plans, in addition to discussing clinical cases, and facing challenges during the provision of care. It is worth noting that the project is being implemented in Jordan with joint efforts from the University of Jordan, the Hashemite University, the Jordan University of Science and Technology, and three European universities: Keio Leuven University in Belgium, Radboud University in the Netherlands, and Queen Mary University in London in the United Kingdom. The project aims to develop the educational skills of health care providers, and expand their capabilities in an effective manner capable of bringing about change in the health sector. Dr. Gernot is an Associate Professor at the University of Oslo in Norway in the Faculty of Social Sciences and a specialist in anesthesia, intensive care, palliative care and neurosciences. Dr. Ernst expressed his interest in conducting a scientific visit to the School of Medicine and the University of Jordan Hospital to exchange experiences and expressed his willingness to hold scientific lectures on research and clinical topics within his field of expertise. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Gernot Ernst has more than 50 published research papers in various scientific topics. He was received in the office of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in the presence of Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Abbadi, Head of the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care, Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Abbadi, Assistant Dean for Quality and Communication Affairs, Dr. Enas Al-Zayadneh, and Mrs. Rashida Badran ,Head of the International Cooperation and Correspondence Division from the International Affairs Unit at the University of Jordan. A meeting was held between the visiting team from the Quality Control and Accreditation Unit at Hebron University with members of the administrative and teaching staff at the Faculty of Medicine, during which the Assistant Dean for Quality and Communication Affairs Dr Enas Al -Zayadneh gave a detailed explanation of the local and international accreditation process obtained by the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Jordan from the Higher Education Accreditation Commission and the International Federation for Medical Education WFME. The two sides also discussed ways of cooperation between the two universities. The delegation toured the facilities of the Faculty of Medicine, including medical laboratories and the Skill Lab . The Palestinian delegation included Dr. Laith Al-Amleh, Assistant Dean for Quality Control, Dr. Moataz Al-Bakri, member of the Accreditation Committee, and Dr. Muath Abu Hamda, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs. The Dean held a meeting in his office with members of the delegation, during which he discussed means of cooperation between the SOM at the University of Jordan and Weill Cornell University. The students expressed their appreciation for the pioneering role played by the SOM at the University of Jordan in the region and their admiration in the prestigious academic and employment reputation of the School . During their visit, the delegation toured the SOM during which they visited the clinical training office and the scientific research office for students. The delegation met the assistant dean for student guidance and a number of medical student. The delegation also participated effectively in a voluntary medical day organized by the College of Medicine in Al -Karamah town in Jordan Valley region. The research studied the research papers retracted after publishing by researchers from Arab countries.
